????Mind The Gap!

Some years ago, (1995 to be exact!), on my first visit to London, I was amazed at the amount of ads for the popular GAP stores all over the city and even in the underground!

AD!

Throughout the London underground, and more so on the ancient Northern Line, you could see “Mind The Gap” signs everywhere and the ads were even piped through the PA system!

A few days later, in conversation with a friend of mine, I mentioned the amount of GAP ads on the underground. He watched me and smiled. He said “Ohh, those are not ads for GAP, they are to remind you to be aware of the gap between the train and the platform!”

Often in our lives, we are limited in our perception of what is true by what we know and have experienced.  When Jesus  rose from the dead, there was great joy and excitement among all the disciples, but Thomas. Hmmm, “doubting Thomas!”.

As much as he wanted to believe, his mind told him that was impossible! In order to believe, he needed to experience and touch for himself!

And so are we as well. We struggle to believe in healing and miracles until we experience it in our lives. And even then, we often still doubt. Instead of giving God the praise, we say it’s just luck and chance.

But God looks beyond your doubts and examines your heart. He is faithful to His Word and to His own. Jesus did not reject Thomas for his doubts and unbelief. Instead He embraced him and encouraged him to touch His wounds.

What are your doubts and insecurities? What’s holding you back today?  Keep looking for Him today, and He will reveal Himself to you just like He did to Thomas!

Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24, NIV)
