Prayer Against Spiritual Slumber

There are periods and seasons in our lives where we fall into slumber. We neglect the secret place and start slacking in our personal fellowship with God. We stop spending time meditating on the Word of God, and our prayer life dies down. We retreat into deep slumber.

AD!

The Bible says we should watch and pray. We can’t afford to slumber because we won’t be able to watch or even pray.

Luke 21:36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.

Let Us Pray

O Lord, I  am in deep spiritual slumber. My prayer altar is cold, I struggle to spend time in Your Holy Word and I don’t do my quiet time anymore. I have allowed the cares of the world and the things I have been going through recently to weigh me down.

But Lord, You are a merciful God. Awaken me, Oh Lord, from this spiritual slumber and set my feet upon the Rock. Make me a watchman and a light bearer that is always alert and prayerful. Help me to put on the armor of light in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

Dear Lord, ignite me with your fire again. Ignite my prayer altar with fire. Let me burn for You again. As I cast all my burdens, worries and cares upon You, may Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard my mind and heart.

May my lamp relight again. May my passion for the word come alive again. I ask in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

1 Peter 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.
