Overcoming Doubt and Negativity
Whenever you are close to a breakthrough, doubts and negative thoughts suddenly invade your mind, seemingly from nowhere. They surround and envelope us. We get negativity and doubts from those around us, from the media, even as we lay down to sleep. Suddenly you find yourself doubting that you are indeed a worthy child of God, and wondering if He hears your prayers.
Luke 4:1- 4
And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness 2 for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing during those days. And when they were ended, he was hungry. 3 The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” 4 And Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone.’”
The enemy started by asking Jesus “If you are the Son of God, why don’t you take these stones and turn them into bread?” He tries to get you to prove yourself. He brings back your history to destroy your faith. When you doubt who you are in the sight of God, you lose your faith!
When those negative thoughts and feelings try to cloud your mind, remind yourself of the promises of God. Declare His Word out loud. When doubt comes knocking on your door, answer it with the Word of God! And stand against the lies of the enemy!
